Investor App
The Investor app provides investors with a view of their portfolios across a range of investment products. Users can track their account activity, access and share their investment documentation, and follow the latest product and investment updates.
The Problem
Our client manages extensive investor accounts across a broad range of investment products, leading to considerable customer service work for Authorised Representatives (AR) who manage individual funds.
Investors have little visibility over their portfolio and must liaise with their AR to receive data on a case-by-case basis.
The aim of the app is two-fold: firstly, to bring decisional power to investors by providing user access to both the summarised and detailed data associated with their investments, and secondly, to reduce the number of customer support requests by providing a secure, data-rich self-help solution.
What we did
Code Heroes created a secure system from scratch for our client made of a cross-platform mobile app and a serverless cloud backend environment.
The app lets investors sign in securely via Multi-Factor Authentication and access all their investment data.
From there, they also have access to all their confidential documents and essential updates and can directly reach out to their Authorised Representative (AR) for enquiries on specific investments.
Our client’s employees and the external product agents can interact with the system to send documents and notifications instantly and directly to the investors’ devices.

Flutter is a cross-platform UI toolkit that allows us to write 90% of the code for both Android and iOS at once. Hot reload allows us to speed up development time by instantly seeing what our code does on the app, saving time and money without compromising quality. The platform allows us to create beautiful UI easily, with great support for animations and layout.

Backend technology
Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers extensive tools to process, store and transmit data with tremendous security, scalability and availability. For this project, we leveraged AWS CloudFormation, which allows the creation of “infrastructure as code” to facilitate reliable and predictable backend deployments, and works with other AWS products.
